Chardmore Society Social Club

This is an occasional event that we sometimes host just for fun. We have had a comedy show, which was great. The last one was a film show – see the details below. We’ll do another of these nights soon – watch this space…

Last time, we did something completely different – a private screening of THE classic movie, Preaching to the Perverted – the best film dealing with fetish/BDSM that I have seen – in the cinema at our fabulous hotel by Piccadilly Circus in the West End of London. This was the information…

You can have dinner in the hotel if you like. You can book a room and make a night of it if you like. You can chill out on the roof terrace and have cocktails in the hot tub. Read on…

A lavish, big budget movie, directed by double British Academy Award winner Stuart Urban (Our Friends in the North, Revelation, May I Kill U?) and starring lesbian icon Guinevere Turner (Go Fish, American Psycho), the story concerns a moral crusader who sends an impressionable young lad undercover to infiltrate the secret London underworld of corrupt BDSM sexual practices. Our poor hero falls under the spell of the charismatic fetish sex goddess at the heart of the scene and we go with him on his wild ride through underground clubs and British society’s perverted ruling elite. There’s humour, politics and loads of fetish sex, all filmed with the co-operation of London’s fetish insiders. (You can tell.)

The cast is really special, including Tom Bell (Prime Suspect, Wish You Were Here), Julie Graham (William & Mary, Nuns on the Run), Georgina Hale (Mahler, Doctor Who), Ricky Tomlinson (Cracker, The Royle Family), Roger Lloyd Pack (Only Fools & Horses, Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire), Keith Allen (Robin Hood and yes, he’s Lily’s dad), Sue Johnston OBE (Waking the Dead, The Royle Family), etc.

Preaching to the Perverted made an impact far outside of the fetish world. Combining a serious political script with a big dose of good humour and loads of kink, it struck a chord worldwide. Come and see the movie with us in our very cool little cinema.
